Description

This project collects different works of art (installations, performances, digital art, and more) which seek to expose, capture, or undermine surveillance practices. Dating to the beginning of video art in the 1960s, artists have been interested in how technologies like CCTV cameras can create impactful works of art. Increasingly, artists are interested in how private and public organizations capture images and data of all of us. The way that this data is collected and used is inextricably tied to larger systems of injustice and harm.
